Course Description

Practice Hatha Yoga and a modified form of Raja Yoga. Merge the traditional art of yoga with a modern heart-based meditative approach. In addition, discover a team that creates a safe and supportive space for this inner journey. In short, be ready for a deep transformation!


This Yoga Teacher Certification is now happening online in spite of the problems created by the pandemic!

Start with 6 weeks of Preparation – gentle online learning: 1 hour of practice per day + 2 hours of theory per week (see Course Syllabus below).

Follows the 2-week Immersion – the program becomes a full time investment for 2 weeks, from your home. Pre-recorded and live sessions allow some flexibility. See timetable below as an example.

Prerequisite

  • A genuine interest in learning about Yoga and Yoga philosophy.
  • A passion to serve others and share the benefits of Yoga.
  • 18 years of age.

  • Anatomy and physiology.
  • Introduction to the history and philosophy of yoga, ethics of yoga.
  • Meditation techniques and other yogic practices.
  • Principles of teaching applied to yoga.

Please note: the immersion course is intense. Although some experience in Yoga is preferable, what truly matters is a good fitness level and the desire to learn and progress.


Sample Immersion Timings

Proposed timings for the 2-week Immersion part of the course. The timings mentioned are Indian Standard Time (IST).

6 am to 8.30 am: 2h30 Live

Teaching Practice – 30 min Circle time & clarifications, 45 min Asana Practice, 45 min Teaching in pairs, 30 min Q&A

8.30 – 9 am Breakfast          

9.30-10.30 am: 1h Live        

Meditation Practice – Experience Heartfulness Meditation supported by Transmission

11 am-1pm: 2h Live & Recorded    

Asana Practice – This class will be live as well as recorded. However we recommend that you participate: this is when the teacher can see you in your practice and help you progress.

1 pm to 2pm Lunch  

2pm-2.30 pm: 30min Pre-recorded

Chanting – The 200h syllabus includes the knowledge of a few Yoga Sutras by heart. Additionally, we will chant opening and closing prayers found in traditional Yoga classes.

2:30pm-3.00pm: 30 min Pre-recorded       

Theory of Asanas – Short video with benefits, contra-indications and variations of the 18 Asanas from the TTC200 syllabus.

3pm- 5 pm: 2h00 Live & Recorded 

Theory Class – This class can be attended Live or as a video.

6 pm- 6.30 pm: 30 min Pre-recorded         

Heartfulness Cleaning practice – Guided personal practice supported by audio

7 pm Dinner


Certification

This course gives an international recognition with Yoga Alliance. Hence, you need to clear all parts of this training course to receive the certification. There are 4 areas of work observed and marked to be eligible for certification:

  1. Practice of Asana: the Lead Trainer will assess your level of practice at the beginning of the Immersion Part of the course. Accordingly, he/she may ask you to appear for another batch if you have not practiced as indicated during the 6 preparatory weeks.
  2. Online attendance for Live sessions: you need to be online for the full class, active, and with your camera on at all time.
  3. Theory of Yoga: regular quiz as well as a final exam
  4. Teaching Practice: we assess your competence in teaching Yoga during live interactions with the group. Additionally you will present a final teaching project: a 1-hour class that you teach, record and share with us.

Cancellation

Once paid, the fees cannot be refunded. In the unfortunate case that you are not able to attend a chosen course, you will be allowed to be part of a subsequent program in the 12 months following the beginning of the initial course.
