This webinar will focus on some practical ways to increase quality of life for families during lockdown. It will help parents understand how, despite their best efforts at good parenting, some of their children’s basic needs may be compromised during lockdown, and what they can do to help. It aims to increase understanding of how family tensions may arise or increase during lockdown, and provide some ideas for maximizing peace and harmony. Finally, it will give parents some ideas for enhancing family values during this time of enforced togetherness.
Speaker : Terran Daily, Terran has been an occupational therapist for over 30 years, working mostly with parents and teachers in both Scotland and rural northern California. She has been struck by the wisdom, gifts, and also challenges of the children and families she has worked with over the years.
Terran has also been a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication, with a focus on working with children, parents and teachers. She was a founding member of the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Peace Education, and delivered peace education modules to students in Scottish schools, including schools in disadvantaged areas. Terran was the mother of two boys with special needs. Elie, who was severely disabled and the essence of sweetness, is no longer with us. Her other son Noah, is now an amazingly steady, nurturing and gentle father and husband. Terran is very proud of her 12 year old granddaughter Zoe, who is a talented artist and STEM whiz.
