Oral Storytelling – A powerful tool for impactful communication and reflection. This webinar will bring alive a conscious study and will offer an experiential understanding of not only the magic of this simple human interaction but also on the infinite possibilities it holds for creativity, self-expression, communication, and critical thinking in a natural and joyful manner. We shall dwell even on the safe space of trust and cooperation that can be created by the storyteller, through the storytelling and with the story, for the listener. We also shall talk about how to touch hearts through stories
Speaker : Deepa Kiran is the founder of Story Arts Foundation, a multi-lingual storyteller, educationalist, TED x speaker, writer & voice-over artist. Her style of music-movement rich, oral storytelling is inspired by Indian oral traditions. Deepa has worked with over 1,00,000 children, 40,000 teachers across the world & India since 1998.
She has been invited to perform International storytelling festivals like Scotland (SISF). She is also a guest lecturer for International Training Program, giving lecture-demonstrations on ‘Indian oral traditions’ at the EFL University. She received a National Award for Best E-Content: Teacher Training Video Storytelling in English Language Teaching on National Television. She won the British Council ‘ELTREP India English Language Teacher Research’ Grant Award.
Recently she has published a book for children called – The Royal Mistake which is available in both print and audio.
