In this webinar, Ruby will share some insights on the psychological aspects of happiness, exploring some of the research conducted in the area. The nature and definition of happiness will be examined along with the universal nature of this emotion. The question of whether happiness is an emotion or a state of being will be considered, along with the hypothesis that happiness can be a ‘choice’. Finally, Ruby will offer some tips on how we live happier lives and the potential role of meditation in finding that allusive happiness that humanity searches for.

Ruby Jane Carmen is a Heartfulness Meditation Trainer based in London. With 15 years experience as a meditator and 10 years as a trainer, Ruby has valuable insight into the limitless potential for personal growth and transformation that can come about through the practice of meditation. Her professional background is in psychology, education and community work. Ruby has worked in the voluntary/charitable sector in the fields of health advocacy, employment and training and community mental health, promoting equality and access to services. She holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Strathcylde, an MEd in Psychology and Education from the University of Cambridge, and has been a member of the British Psychology Society since 2010.
