Pierre Rabhi

Born in Algeria, Pierre Rabhi (1938-2021) was a French farmer, writer and philosopher. He promoted a way of life that respects both humankind and nature, and worked to promote agro-ecology throughout the world, par­ticularly in Africa. Recognized as an international expert on food safety, he participated in the drafting of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. He created many associations with the goal of recon­necting people to nature, and personally embodied his philosophical ideals to inspire people to make changes in their lives.
