<h4>In these landscapes, which are so surreal they are almost like paintings, <span style="color:#d1ac07;">BRUNO MEMEINT</span> captures the stark beauty of Iceland, a land known for its harsh climate and astounding ephemeral light.&nbsp;</h4><hr><p><img src="https://cdn-prod-static.heartfulness.org/lights_of_iceland2_2_df44cbcc3c.jpg?updated_at=2023-04-07T09:49:25.253Z" alt="lights-of-iceland2-2">The last glimmers of twilight through the mist on Vik Beach</p><hr><h3><span style="color:#d1ac07;">A PHOTO ESSAY</span></h3><hr><p>The island of ten thousand waterfalls is the land of volcanoes, geysers, the largest glacier in Europe, and extraordinary landscapes. It is a land of Vikings, with severe climatic conditions in the long winter months.</p><p>The practice of Heartfulness Meditation over the past decade has changed my view of nature, influencing my photographs. How was I going to discover and approach this country, a paradise for photographers, but unknown to me? I relied on my heart, knowing that it would guide me throughout my stay, as it does in my daily life.</p><hr><p><img src="https://cdn-prod-static.heartfulness.org/lights_of_iceland3_2_29eb1a217f.jpg?updated_at=2023-04-07T09:51:00.147Z" alt="lights-of-iceland3-2">Landmannalaugar: The starting point of one of the most beautiful treks in the world.&nbsp;<br>There is such an impression of being tiny in front of these mountains.</p><hr><p><img src="https://cdn-prod-static.heartfulness.org/lights_of_iceland4_e7f4ad9a00.jpg?updated_at=2023-04-07T09:52:35.387Z" alt="lights-of-iceland4">The night is complicit in the appearance of the famous Northern Lights. The moon also brings its own light.</p><hr><hr><h5><span style="color:#314fa2;">How was I going to discover and approach this country,&nbsp;</span><br><span style="color:#314fa2;">a paradise for photographers, but unknown to me?</span><br><span style="color:#314fa2;">I relied on my heart, knowing that it would guide me&nbsp;</span><br><span style="color:#314fa2;">throughout my stay, as it does in my daily life.</span></h5><hr><hr><p><img src="https://cdn-prod-static.heartfulness.org/lights_of_iceland5_a274dee8db.jpg?updated_at=2023-04-07T09:54:12.928Z" alt="lights-of-iceland5">Like a projector, a ray of sunshine highlights this typical Icelandic house.</p><hr><hr><h5><span style="color:#314fa2;">The answer was the light,&nbsp;</span><br><span style="color:#314fa2;">so particular and ephemeral,&nbsp;</span><br><span style="color:#314fa2;">that sculpts the unique landscapes,&nbsp;</span><br><span style="color:#314fa2;">bringing to them&nbsp;</span><br><span style="color:#314fa2;">an almost supernatural side.</span></h5><hr><hr><p>The answer was the light, so particular and ephemeral, that sculpts the unique landscapes, bringing to them an almost supernatural side.</p><p>As much as I felt the spiritual energy during my various stays in India, in Iceland it is the telluric energy that dominates. It’s a bit like traveling back in time, with volcanoes and lava flows, geysers, and black sand on the beaches. But there is also the hope of light that illuminates the darkness.
