The speaker will propose a radically different and empowering understanding of autism, based on his experience of bringing enormous changes in his own autistic son’s life. He will focus on that experience with his son, what he learned about autism and how to ensure the best possible outcomes for a child with autism (or, in fact, any child).
- A new understanding of autism and of the experiences of autistic children
- Why meltdowns occur?
- Why social cues appear difficult for them to understand?
- Key principles to transform the life of a child with autism
When Guy’s health collapsed in early 2016, he was barely able to leave the house for several months. However, although barely able to read and respond to emails, it was at this time that he wrote his book, detailing the treatment his son had benefited from. It included an introduction to a bold new understanding of autism, which came very clearly during meditation one morning (along with a lot of tears) and has since been widely welcomed by the community of autistic adults as reflecting their experience of life in a way they had never heard articulated.
