the Dynamic Violin Duo
With the guidance and blessings from Heartfulness guide Shri Kamlesh D Patel (fondly addressed as Daaji), the violinists Shri Ganesh and Shri Kumaresh are celebrating their journey in music with a concert on 20th November 2022, at Narada Gana Sabha at Chennai.
The event will be graced by Padma Bhushan Awardee, Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Dr. T. V. Gopalakrishnan, and Padma Bhushan Awardee, President Nrityodaya, Smt. Padma Subrahmanyam.
In 1972, the two brilliant brothers, Shri Ganesh and Shri Kumaresh hailed as “child violin prodigies”, performed for the first time. By 1977, they delivered more than 100 performances all over the world. They have carved a niche for Indian instrumental music with their impeccable and remarkable technique in playing the violin and also in interpreting the musical forms. They have performed in several eminent global festivals, and their creative idiom is international and communication through music crosses all boundaries. They have brought much-needed global acknowledgment and attention to violin and Carnatic music. They have received many prestigious honors and awards including the Kalaimani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu, Akademi Puraskar 2018 by Sangeet Natak Akademi, and GIMA – the Global Indian Music Academy Awards. They have been lifetime practitioners of Heartfulness meditation and are among the most prominent patrons of Forests by Heartfulness Initiative.
