About the course


Viji Vasu has been a trainer of Yoga for over 30 years. Viji Vasu’s style has 2 unique features – taking a holistic lens to Ashtanga Yoga beyond Asana practice and personalizing or customizing practices to the needs of individuals. Trained in the Krishnamacharya’s style, Viji Vasu learnt directly from the well known Shri TKV Desikachar, son and disciple of Shri Krishnamacharya. More importantly, Viji Vasu has been a practitioner of Heartfulness for 20 years now and a Meditation trainer for the last five years.

This course will combine the Krishnamacharya approach to Yoga with Heartfulness practices to make for a unique program.

A 4-Week program in 2 modules:

September 21st to October 7th, 2019 & March 7th to March 23rd, 2020

Pre-requisites


Anyone interested to become a Yoga Teacher can register to become a yoga teacher.

We do expect adults, above 18 years of age but there is no age limitation. However, if you do have a medical limitation, do contact us and inform our Lead Trainer about your situation before you enroll.

Meet our Lead Trainer


Viji Vasu

Viji Vasu, BEd, MEd, Diploma in Yoga (KYM), CYT, E-RYT 500 was teaching at a prestigious school in Chennai, India for 15 years before completing her Diploma in Yoga from the KYM where she worked as a senior Yoga therapist and Yoga teacher for 13 years.

She learnt yoga under the well-known Shri T K V Desikachar, son and disciple of Shri Krishnamacharya at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai, where she was a Senior Yoga Consultant. Subsequently, she co-founded Yoga Raksanam seveteen years back, and is the Director of Academics there since 2002.

Viji is certified by the International Yoga Alliance and has trained several students on the 200-hour Diploma Course in Yoga accredited by the International Yoga Alliance. She has the experience of training students of different nationalities and background to Yoga. She has also traveled abroad to offer the Diploma program to candidates in Europe. She is fond of Vedic chanting, incorporating the chanting with all her teaching.

More importantly, she has been a practitioner of Heartfulness for 20 years now and a Heartfulness Meditation trainer for the last five years. She lives in Chennai with her family.
